Honor has officially launched the Robot Phone in China, showcasing a unique expandable gimbal camera design that raises the bar for smartphone photography. It pairs flagship-level performance with an exceptionally bright display and one of the largest batteries ever put into a premium phone.

Breaking away from standard fixed camera layouts, the Honor Robot Phone features a motorized swivel module that rotates mechanically for stabilized shooting, AI subject tracking, and first-person perspective recording. It also carries official ARRI cinema tuning and a dedicated Honor H1 imaging chip for professional-grade video quality.

Why the Swivel Gimbal Changes Everything

The defining feature is the robotic gimbal camera module that physically rotates with 3-axis mechanical stabilization. Unlike standard OIS that shifts the lens slightly, this system can tilt and swivel to keep subjects perfectly centered, track movement automatically, and capture smooth video even while walking or running. It supports AI subject tracking, FPV or first-person view shooting, gesture-controlled capture, and automatic framing.

The camera system pairs this macro capability, and a 200MP periscope telephoto delivering 2.7x optical zoom and up to 200x digital zoom. All three cameras benefit from Honor’s H1 imaging chip and official ARRI cinema tuning, including support for LogC3 professional video recording.

Display, Performance, and Battery Overhaul

The phone features a 6.31-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 4320Hz PWM dimming for eye comfort, and a peak HDR brightness of 6,800 nits. That is bright enough to remain clearly visible even in direct sunlight.

Under the hood runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. Powering everything is a 7,060mAh battery, one of the largest ever put into a slim flagship, supported by 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Additional premium details include 3D ultrasonic fingerprint, dual stereo speakers with Honor’s AI surround bass, X-axis haptic motor, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, IR blaster, and USB 3.2 with video output. The device runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16.
