Honor has a new contender in the battery size segment, introducing the Honor Power 2. The brand confirmed it will launch on January 5th, 2026, at 7:30 PM in China, according to the official announcement on its Weibo page.
The phone is confirmed to house a massive 10,080mAh battery paired with 90W fast charging, matching previous rumors. Aside from that, the phone is also the first to utilize the new MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite, and the brand claims it has an AnTuTu score of more than 2.4 million points.
For the display, it has a 6.79-inch flat OLED LTPS display featuring a 1.5K (2640 x 1200p) resolution. The brand also confirmed it boasts IP68, IP69, and IP69K full-level dust and water resistance certifications.
For imaging, it has a 50MP + 5MP camera setup and a 16MP selfie shooter, though no details have been revealed yet on which sensor is used—whether Sony or another type.
The dimensions of the phone are also confirmed, measuring 162.1 x 76.3 x 7.98mm and weighing 216 grams. Other details include an in-display fingerprint sensor, NFC support, Android 16/MagicOS 10, and colorways: Rising Sun Orange, Snow White, and Phantom Black.
Apart from the Honor Power 2 with its huge battery size, the brand launched the Honor Win and Honor Win RT earlier last December, which feature a 10,000mAh battery. Is this perhaps a sign that the battery size war will begin in 2026? If this trend takes hold, we might see manufacturers racing to announce ever-larger capacities, even as questions linger about practicality and sustainability.
