Redmi has officially launched the Note 17 Pro Max 5G for global markets, beginning with an initial release in Japan. The device carries a starting price of ¥79,980, which converts to approximately ₱31,000 in Philippine currency. The official release date in Japan is set for August 28.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G features a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen offers a peak brightness of 3500 nits in ultra high brightness mode and 2000 nits in high brightness mode, along with 3840Hz PWM dimming for eye comfort. It also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+ for enhanced media viewing, plus a 3200Hz instant touch sampling rate for responsive gaming.
Powering the device is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS storage options. The phone runs on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, providing the latest software experience from Xiaomi. Storage configurations include 128GB using UFS 2.2, and higher 256GB and 512GB variants using the faster UFS 4.1 standard.
On papers, a standout feature is the 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, one of the largest capacities in its class. The device supports 100W wired charging for fast top-ups and 27W reverse wired charging to power other accessories. This combination aims to deliver extended usage time without compromising on charging speed.
The camera system consists of a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization and an 8MP ultra-wide lens on the rear, plus a 32MP front camera for selfies. Additional features include an in-screen fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, an IR blaster and USB-C port. The device is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and carries IP66 and IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance.
