Manila, Philippines – The upcoming Redmi Turbo 5 Max is set to be powered by the recently launched MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, based on recent report from Digital Chat Station and official Redmi posts on Weibo.

The device is expected to be unveiled later this January, alongside the Redmi Pad 2 Pro and Redmi Buds 8 Pro.
According to Digital Chat Station, the Turbo 5 Max will become the first smartphone to run on the Dimensity 9500s. The processor is built using TSMC’s N3e+ manufacturing process and adopts an all-big-core CPU design with a peak clock speed of 3.73GHz. It is paired with a 12-core GPU running at 1.61GHz, along with 12MB of L3 cache and 10MB of SLC cache.
The report adds that the chip maintains its full cache configuration without any reduction. The handset is also expected to feature LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage.
Benchmark data shared by the sources highlights the Turbo 5 Max’s performance in demanding games.
In Genshin Impact, the phone reportedly sustained an average frame rate of 60 FPS at high graphics settings, with power consumption of around 4W over a one-hour session.
While both the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (8G5) also delivered stable frame rates, the Dimensity 9500s was said to have a slight edge in power efficiency and 1% low frame rate consistency.
For Honkai: Star Rail, referred to in the report as Star Iron, the Turbo 5 Max achieved an average of 59.6 FPS while drawing about 6W of power.
The testing suggested that the Snapdragon 8G5 faced issues related to reduced cache and GPU performance in this game, causing overheating, frame rate caps, and instability in later stages. As a result, its average frame rate dropped to 58.4 FPS.
In Honor of Kings, the device reportedly ran the ultra 120 FPS mode with an average of 120 FPS, consuming roughly 3W of power.
The sources also indicate that the Turbo 5 Max delivers longer battery life, attributed to its large battery capacity and the Dimensity chip’s efficiency under lighter workloads.
Redmi has confirmed via Weibo that the phone will launch officially in January, alongside the Redmi Pad 2 Pro and Redmi Buds 8 Pro.
