MediaTek has officially launched the Dimensity 7500, a new 5G chipset built for upper mid‑range phones, made using a 4nm process. It comes with MediaTek’s latest Armv9 CPU architecture, better AI performance, upgraded gaming features, and support for high‑resolution cameras and displays.

The Dimensity 7500 is built to power the next generation of performance‑focused smartphones at an affordable price, delivering a good mix of power efficiency, fast connectivity, and great multimedia features.

MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Specifications

The chipset features an octa-core CPU configuration consisting of four Arm C1 Pro performance cores clocked at up to 2.6GHz and four Arm C1 Nano efficiency cores running at up to 2.0GHz. MediaTek says the new architecture delivers better power efficiency and improved overall performance compared to previous-generation designs.

One of the major highlights is the upgraded NPU 850, which reportedly offers up to twice the AI processing performance of its predecessor. The enhanced AI engine is expected to improve photography, voice recognition, gaming optimization, and on-device AI tasks.

According to specifications published by MediaTek, the Dimensity 7500 supports:

  • LPDDR5 memory up to 6400Mbps
  • UFS 3.1 storage
  • Arm Mali-G625 MC2 GPU
  • Displays with resolutions up to 1.5K+ and refresh rates up to 144Hz
  • Cameras up to 200 megapixels
  • 4K HDR video recording
  • Wi-Fi 6E connectivity
  • Bluetooth 5.4
  • Integrated 5G modem with download speeds reaching up to 5.2Gbps

For mobile gamers, MediaTek includes its HyperEngine gaming technologies, which help optimize performance, network stability, and power efficiency during gameplay.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Series Rumored as Early Adopter

Before the announcement, rumors began circulating that Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 17 Pro series could become one of the first smartphone lineups to use the new processor.

According to information shared by X user @kacskrz, a Redmi Note 17 Pro-series device which is possibly the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is being prepared with the Dimensity 7500 chipset.

Leaked specifications suggest the phone could feature:

  • 200MP Samsung HP5 primary camera
  • 8MP ultra-wide camera
  • 32MP front-facing camera
  • 10,000mAh+ battery for the Chinese market
  • 9,210mAh battery for global variants

If accurate, the device would join a growing number of smartphones using battery capacities beyond the 9,000mAh mark while maintaining support for advanced camera systems and high-refresh-rate displays.

Focus on AI and Battery Life

MediaTek launched the Dimensity 7500 just as more smartphone brands are shifting their focus toward better on‑device AI and longer‑lasting batteries. With its upgraded NPU, support for up to 200MP cameras, and power‑efficient 4nm design, this chip is clearly built to go up against competing platforms from Qualcomm in the upper mid‑range segment.

We expect to hear more details about actual phones using this chip in the coming weeks. Right now, the Redmi Note 17 Pro series is one of the top rumored models that could be among the first to run the Dimensity 7500.
