According to Nintendo, the company is putting the “world” in Mario Kart™ World with the launch of the Global Online Challenge. This event lets players race against competitors from every corner of the planet. It officially starts on June 4 at 5:00 p.m. PT and continues through June 11 at 5:00 p.m. PT.

Based on event details, fixed settings will be used for all matches. The mode is set to VS Race with the 150cc engine class selected. There are no teams, so every driver competes only for themselves. Items are set to normal, and no computer-controlled opponents will appear in any race. Courses follow standard connected rules, and players can join as many races as they want with no limit on total matches. The wait time between races is fixed at 30 seconds.

As for participation, joining is simple and does not require advance sign up. All that is needed is to play during the event period. To enter, open Mario Kart World and go to Online Play. Press the minus button to search and enter the four digit event code 6500. The system will then match you directly into a race.

However, certain conditions apply. It is important to remember that a Nintendo Switch Online membership and a Nintendo Account are required to use online features. The membership is sold separately and will renew automatically at the current rate when the term ends unless you turn off auto renew beforehand. This service is not available in every country. A stable internet connection is also necessary to play online. Currently, Mario Kart™ World is priced at $79.99 or roughly ₱4,900 in Philippine peso.

In related news, Nintendo has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23. This release brings the franchise back to Nintendo hardware and will arrive as a full version alongside releases for other platforms.
