Nintendo has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23, bringing the franchise back to Nintendo hardware with a full release alongside other platforms.

The latest entry in the Modern Warfare series focuses on a large-scale global conflict, with the story split between frontline battles and covert operations. The campaign follows a young group of South Korean soldiers trying to survive as war spreads across multiple regions, while Captain Price carries out a personal mission that slowly connects to the wider invasion.

Players will fight through several locations during the campaign, including trench battles in Korea, close-range combat in New York, vehicle chases in Paris, and assaults to retake occupied cities.

Nintendo also confirmed that multiplayer will support cross-play and cross-progression, allowing Switch 2 players to match with users on other platforms and carry over their progress. The game will also support optional Joy-Con 2 mouse controls for aiming and shooting.

DMZ mode returns as well, featuring extraction-style missions set behind enemy lines. Players will need to decide which objectives to complete, what gear to secure, and when to escape before losing everything collected during a run.

The release is another major step in bringing the Call of Duty franchise back to Nintendo systems after years away from the platform. Unlike some previous Nintendo ports from other publishers, Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to launch on the same day as the other versions.

Nintendo said more details, including pre-orders and additional gameplay information, will be shared later this summer.

In related news, Fitness Boxing 3: Your Personal Trainer for Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will also released earlier, on Thursday, July 16, 2026. This release date applies to Japan and Asia, including the Philippines.
