Nintendo and Monolith Soft are bringing the enhanced re-release of one of their most beloved JRPGs to store shelves this week. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launches physically on July 30, 2026, following its digital debut back in June 2026.

According to Nintendo Philippines, This special bundle packages the complete Nintendo Switch version of the game with an upgrade pack built to leverage the new hardware. It retains every improvement from the 2020 Definitive Edition release: the extended epilogue Xenoblade Chronicles: Future Connected, remixed and remastered soundtrack, streamlined quest tracking, updated character models, and quality-of-life tweaks that made the original Wii classic more accessible than ever.

The Switch 2 Edition goes further with platform-exclusive upgrades. Players can expect enhanced resolution and smoother, sharper cutscenes, with support for up to 4K at 60 frames per second in TV mode and 1080p at 60fps in handheld mode. Exploration across the colossal titans Bionis and Mechonis gets a speed boost thanks to the new Ether Jet vehicle, letting players traverse the game’s sprawling landscapes far more quickly. For the first time, all Heart-to-Heart character conversations are also fully voiced, adding deeper emotional weight to the party’s interactions.

Players who already own this game on Nintendo Switch do not need to repurchase the full bundle. They can buy the standalone Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack separately to unlock all enhancements.

This release is part of Nintendo’s broader plan to bring the entire Xenoblade Chronicles trilogy to Switch 2. The game launches digitally on the same day, with a physical release following in October, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is scheduled for December 2026.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is playable only on Nintendo Switch 2. In the United States, it will be available at retail and via the Nintendo eShop for $69.99. The standalone upgrade pack for existing Nintendo Switch owners costs $9.99.

In the Philippines, local retailers have opened pre-orders with estimated price ranges ahead of the July 30 launch. Game Extreme lists an estimated SRP of PHP 3,295 to PHP 3,795, while Gameline’s estimated range is PHP 3,395 to PHP 3,995. Both stores are accepting pre-orders with a PHP 500 down payment.
