Publisher and developer Nintendo has released Mixtape for the Nintendo Switch 2 on May 7, 2026, bringing a nostalgic coming-of-age adventure centered on friendship, music, and teenage memories.
Developed by Beethoven & Dinosaur, the studio behind the BAFTA-winning title The Artful Escape, Mixtape follows three friends spending their final night together before going their separate ways. Along the way, a carefully selected playlist pulls them into surreal recreations of key moments from their youth.
The game plays through a series of narrative-driven vignettes inspired by classic coming-of-age films. Players experience different activities tied to the characters’ memories, including skateboarding, flying, sneaking into an abandoned theme park for late-night photography, playing baseball, and setting off fireworks from the backseat of a car.
According to Nintendo, Mixtape is available digitally on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop for $17.99, roughly around ₱1,088 based on current exchange rates. A launch sale is currently running and is scheduled to end on May 22, 2026 at 2:59 PM GMT+8.
The game supports TV mode, Tabletop mode, and Handheld mode on the Nintendo Switch 2. The download file size is listed at 10.5GB.
Music plays a major role throughout the experience, featuring tracks from several well-known artists including DEVO, Roxy Music, Lush, The Smashing Pumpkins, Iggy Pop, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, and The Cure.
With its mix of narrative storytelling, stylized visuals, and licensed soundtrack, Mixtape leans heavily into themes of adolescence, nostalgia, and the bittersweet feeling of moving on.
