MediaTek announced the launch of its Filogic 8000 family at CES 2026, positioning the new chipset lineup as part of its efforts to support the emerging Wi-Fi 8 ecosystem. The company showcased Wi-Fi 8 solutions designed for both gateway and client applications during the event.
According to MediaTek, the Filogic 8000 series is intended to address growing demand for ultra-reliable, high-performance wireless connectivity as AI-driven and latency-sensitive applications continue to expand. The company stated that the new platform will support multi-gigabit connectivity and next-generation networking requirements.
Kevin Robinson, President and CEO of the Wi-Fi Alliance, highlighted the role of Wi-Fi 8 in enabling advanced connectivity use cases. He noted that the upcoming standard is expected to support more sophisticated applications, immersive experiences, and highly reliable connectivity on a global scale, adding that MediaTek’s participation contributes to preparing the broader ecosystem for the transition.
Alan Hsu, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of MediaTek’s Intelligent Connectivity Business Unit, said the company is demonstrating Wi-Fi 8 across multiple applications at CES 2026, including gateways and client devices. He added that the demonstrations reflect MediaTek’s ongoing work in developing next-generation wireless technologies.
MediaTek also emphasized its collaboration with industry partners such as Deutsche Telekom, Airties, SoftAtHome, and Zyxel as part of its Wi-Fi ecosystem efforts. The company reports shipping more than two billion connected devices annually.
The Filogic 8000 series is aimed at premium and flagship devices that will leverage Wi-Fi 8 technology. MediaTek stated that the first chipset in the series is expected to reach customers later in 2026.
