We’re getting our best look yet at the next Samsung foldables including the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and top‑end Z Fold 8 Ultra thanks to fresh sightings, and leaks.
A device marked Galaxy Z Fold 8 was actually spotted out in public, being used by a Samsung employee. That’s the first real‑world proof of this updated design.

On top of that, well‑known tipster Ice Universe on X has shared photos and details of both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and a prototype Z Fold 8 Ultra, showing exactly how they look. You can check out those leaked images below.

Right now, we don’t have full specs for the Ultra model, but we know it’s definitely coming. The name Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra has already popped up in Bluetooth SIG certification records as shared by Anvin on X, so it’s officially confirmed.
For the Galaxy Z Fold 8, here’s everything that’s leaked so far:
- Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy
- Displays: 7.6‑inch inner AMOLED (120Hz) plus 5.4‑inch outer AMOLED (120Hz). This is way wider than before
- Camera: 200MP main shooter
- Memory & Storage: Up to 16GB RAM plus up to 1TB storage
- Battery & Charging: 4800mAh battery plus 45W fast charging
Design changes everyone will notice
Back in last year’s rumors, we already heard about nice upgrades coming. The cameras are definitely getting better. There is also talk of a fresh new design that might make foldables feel totally different. Here are the latest details based on the leaked images.
- Much wider outer screen: This is the big one. Samsung is finally fixing that too narrow outer display problem. Typing, browsing, or watching videos on the cover screen will feel normal now. There is no more awkward tall, narrow shape
- Big camera rings: The camera bump is bold and noticeable, with large circular rings around each lens
- Slimmer overall body: Thinner and easier to slip into a pocket or hold
- Tablet‑like feel unfolded: The ratio is much better now. Open it up and it actually feels like a small tablet, not a stretched‑out phone
What about the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra?
We still don’t have specs or exact features for the Ultra, but it will be the most premium version in the lineup. Expect better cameras, fancier materials, and extra perks. Its certification listing means it’s well into development and will launch alongside the other models.
For years, the biggest complaint about the Z Fold line was that narrow outer screen. Now it looks like Samsung is finally listening. The wider display alone could make this the most usable Fold yet.
We’ll keep you posted as more details, prices, and release dates come out.
