Sony has unveiled the LYTIA L910, its most advanced 50MP smartphone camera sensor yet. It features a 1/1.28-inch sensor equipped with LOFIC CMOS technology, offering up to 100dB of dynamic range while maintaining low power consumption.
According to Sony, this configuration delivers high-quality 4K imaging in low-light conditions without significantly increasing power consumption. It also supports 4K HDR video recording at up to 60fps, bringing enhanced HDR performance to smartphone cameras.
The new sensor succeeds the Sony LYT-828, which was launched on June 26, 2025, and has appeared in flagship smartphones such as the vivo X300 Pro. The main difference between the two sensors lies in how they achieve high dynamic range (HDR). On paper, the Sony LYT-828 and the newer Sony LYTIA L910 share identical physical dimensions. However, the LYTIA L910 features an upgraded processing architecture that captures HDR images from a single exposure rather than combining multiple exposures, helping reduce motion artifacts while improving power efficiency.

The biggest upgrade is its single-exposure HDR capability, which helps reduce motion blur and flickering while preserving details in both highlights and shadows.
According to Sony, mass production of the sensor will begin in summer 2026. Rumored suggest that the LYTIA L910 is expected to appear in flagship Android smartphones launching later this year, including the vivo X500 series, OPPO Find X10 series, OnePlus 16, iQOO 15, Xiaomi 18 series, and other upcoming devices.
