Vivo’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the X500 Pro Max, has appeared on benchmarking platform Geekbench, revealing key specifications and performance details just weeks before its expected September launch.
The device, carrying model number V2610, was listed twice on Geekbench with both entries uploaded on August 24, suggesting the company is in the final stages of testing its next-generation flagship. The X500 series was previously confirmed by Vivo product manager Han Boxiao for a September release, building anticipation for what appears to be a significant upgrade over its predecessors.
Benchmark Performance
The two Geekbench listings show consistent performance numbers, with minor variations typical of testing conditions:
First listing:
- Single-core score: 2,653
- Multi-core score: 7,516
Second listing:
- Single-core score: 2,574
- Multi-core score: 7,756

These early scores place the X500 Pro Max in a solid performance range, though they are likely from an ongoing testing phase and not yet representative of the chipset’s full potential. As software and thermal optimizations are finalized, the Dimensity 9600 Pro is expected to deliver even higher performance in the final release, with its architecture pointing to significantly stronger results once fully tuned.
Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro
The Geekbench database confirms the X500 Pro Max is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro (model MT6996), built on a cutting-edge 2nm process technology. The chipset features an octa-core CPU configuration:
- 2 performance cores clocked at 4.55GHz
- 3 mid-tier cores clocked at 4.35GHz
- 3 efficiency cores clocked at 3.10GHz
Graphics are handled by the Arm Mali-G2-Ultra-NX MC12 GPU, which is expected to deliver console-level gaming performance and improved power efficiency compared to previous generations.
The test unit was configured with 12GB of RAM and ran Android 17, confirming that Vivo’s latest flagship will launch with Google’s newest operating system out of the box.
What to Expect
The appearance on Geekbench shows that Vivo is finalizing software optimization ahead of the official September launch. The 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro could give Vivo a competitive edge in the flagship market, continuing to challenge both Qualcomm and Apple silicon in terms of performance-per-watt efficiency.
More details about the Vivo X500 Pro Max, including pricing, full specifications, and exact launch date, are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks as Vivo officially kicks off its promotional campaign for the X500 series.
