Xiaomi 18 Fold Officially Launched

Xiaomi unveiled the 18 Fold at an event in China on September 7, 2026, which viewers could re-watch via a live stream on their official YouTube channel. The phone is available for pre-order now and will go on general sale in China starting at 10 AM on September 10. There is no global release date confirmed as of yet.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold weighs 219g and measures 5.02mm thick when unfolded. It is available in Black, Warm Gold White, and Xiye Red. A Ceramic Special Edition will also be offered. The device carries an IP58 rating for water and dust resistance.

The outer display uses Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0 for extra durability, while the inner panel is protected by dual-layer UTG. Both screens support a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate and reach up to 4000 nits of peak brightness, making them clearly visible even under direct sunlight.

Powering the device is the Xring O3 AI flagship SoC, Xiaomi’s next-generation chip designed for high performance and on-device AI tasks. It is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR6 RAM, which the brand claims makes it the first device to use CXMT’s latest memory. Storage options go up to 1TB of UFS 4.1. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, IR blaster, UWB, and USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2.

The triple rear camera system is co-developed with Leica. It includes a 200MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto with OIS. Video recording goes up to 8K at 24fps and 4K at 60fps, with slow-motion support up to 960fps. Both the outer and inner displays house a 16MP front-facing camera.

A 6000mAh battery sits inside the slim foldable body. It supports 67W wired charging that can top up the battery quickly, plus 50W wireless charging for cable-free convenience.

The phone runs Android 17 layered with HyperOS 4. Xiaomi’s latest interface brings improved multitasking, foldable-optimized apps, and enhanced AI features powered by the Xring O3 chip.
