MediaTek Dimensity 9600M Announced: Specs and Phones Expected to Use It

MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 9600M, a new 3nm smartphone chipset that appears to be a rebranded version of the company’s Dimensity 9500. Rather than introducing a completely new architecture, the Dimensity 9600M retains the same CPU, GPU, AI, memory, and connectivity hardware as the Dimensity 9500, with the main difference appearing to be the naming.

MediaTek Dimensity 9600M Specifications

The Dimensity 9600M features an all-big-core CPU configuration based on Arm’s latest C1-series cores. It combines one C1 Ultra core with three C1 Premium cores and four C1 Pro cores.

The chipset also supports advanced display configurations, including triple MIPI connectivity for foldable and tri-fold devices.

Dimensity 9600M vs. Dimensity 9500

On paper, the Dimensity 9600M is very similar to the standard Dimensity 9500. Both chips use a 3nm process and the same 1+3+4 CPU configuration, with the same 4.21GHz maximum clock speed.

The Dimensity 9600M is a newer 3nm premium chipset based on the technology platform introduced with the Dimensity 9600 Pro, while the Dimensity 9500 is MediaTek’s previous-generation 3nm flagship platform.

That means the Dimensity 9600M should not be viewed as an entirely different flagship platform. Instead, it appears to be a modified version of the Dimensity 9500 with a different name.

Which Phones Could Use the Dimensity 9600M?

The vivo X500 Pro series and OPPO Find X10 Pro series have been confirmed to feature MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset, as revealed by Geekbench listings. Both models are expected to be among the first smartphones to use the company’s latest flagship processor.

Meanwhile, the base vivo X500 and OPPO Find X10 models are expected to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9600M. The OPPO Find X10 series is scheduled to launch on September 22, 2026, giving us a closer look at MediaTek’s new chipsets in OPPO’s upcoming flagship lineup.
