Xiaomi 18 Pro Launched in China with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, 200MP Periscope, and 7,000mAh Battery

Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi 18 Pro in China alongside the top-end Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. The Xiaomi 18 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset and triple Leica camera system with a 7,000mAh battery, 100W wired charging, and a secondary AMOLED display on the back.

The phone also introduces Xiaomi’s new native privacy display technology, an AI button for quick functions, and a range of AI-powered imaging features. It is available in multiple memory and storage configurations, including a 16GB + 1TB Transparent Edition.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Performance

The Xiaomi 18 Pro is one of the first smartphones to use Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 mobile platform. The 2nm chipset is designed to deliver improvements in CPU performance, graphics, AI processing, and power efficiency compared with the previous generation.

The phone pairs the chipset with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, providing a high-end hardware configuration for demanding apps, gaming, and multitasking.

6.4-Inch SuperPixel Display With Privacy Mode

The Xiaomi 18 Pro features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a 2436 × 1120 resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The panel reaches up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness and supports 10-bit color, full-range DC dimming, and a wide BT.2020 color gamut.

One of the phone’s notable additions is Xiaomi’s privacy display technology. The privacy mode can be applied globally or enabled for individual apps and pages. Users can also activate it with a single press of the dedicated AI button.

The phone includes privacy detection that can alert users when an app is accessing sensitive hardware such as the camera or microphone.

2.7-Inch Rear AMOLED Display

Another distinctive feature is the 2.7-inch AMOLED display on the back of the phone.

The secondary screen has a 912 × 596 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness. It can display information such as notifications, the time, battery status, and camera previews without requiring users to interact with the main display.

The rear screen can also be useful when taking selfies with the main camera system, allowing users to preview the shot using the rear display.

Leica Cameras

Photography is another major focus of the Xiaomi 18 Pro. The phone features a Leica-tuned triple-camera system with high-resolution 200MP periscope sensor.
