Samsung has started rolling out One UI 9, its Android 17-based software update, in the Philippines. The rollout begins with the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, while more Galaxy smartphones and tablets are expected to receive the update in the coming weeks.
According to Samsung’s official newsroom in the Philippines, the Galaxy S26 series began receiving One UI 9 on September 16. The update will gradually expand to other compatible Galaxy devices.

The list above is based on reported One UI 9 eligibility information from Yugatech. Samsung’s rollout schedule can vary by device, market, carrier, and region, so availability in the Philippines may not happen at the same time as other countries.
When Will Older Galaxy Phones Get One UI 9?
Samsung has confirmed that the One UI 9 rollout will continue beyond the Galaxy S26 series, but it has not published a complete Philippine release schedule for every compatible Galaxy device.
The Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 have been reported for a September 28 rollout in Thailand. However, that date should not be treated as a confirmed Philippine release date unless Samsung Philippines announces it separately.
The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series are also expected to receive One UI 9, with rollout timing depending on the specific model and market. The Galaxy S23 FE has been reported for an October rollout.
Because Samsung releases major software updates in stages, users may receive the update at different times even when their device is included in the same rollout.
Galaxy S22 Series Will Not Get One UI 9
The Galaxy S22 series will not receive One UI 9.
The Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra launched with Android 12 and were promised four generations of Android OS upgrades. Android 16 with One UI 8 represents the final major Android update for the series.
According to Android Authority, these phones will continue receiving security updates following Samsung’s official software support schedule, but they are not expected to get another major Android release after Android 16.
Galaxy A54 Gets Its Final Major Android Update
The Galaxy A54 is also included among the devices expected to receive One UI 9.
The phone launched in 2023 with Android 13 and One UI 5.1. Samsung promised four generations of Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates for the device.
As a result, One UI 9 based on Android 17 will be the Galaxy A54’s fourth and final major Android OS upgrade.
What’s New in One UI 9?
One UI 9 introduces several new features and improvements alongside Android 17. Samsung highlights features such as My FanCam, improvements to Now Brief and Now Nudge, enhanced Interpreter functionality, Document Scan improvements, and new capabilities in the Voice Recorder app.
The update also includes additional security and privacy improvements designed to provide more control over how Galaxy devices handle personal data and connected features.
How to Check for the One UI 9 Update
If you own a compatible Galaxy device, you can manually check whether One UI 9 is available by going to:
Settings > Software update > Download and install
If the update is not available yet, it does not necessarily mean your phone is excluded. Samsung releases major updates in phases, and availability can vary depending on the model, region, carrier, and software version.
