Vivo has officially confirmed the camera specifications for its upcoming X500 flagship, and the standard model is receiving a significant imaging upgrade this generation.

According to Vivo product manager Han Boxiao, who shared the details via Weibo, the X500 will feature the same Sony LYTIA-828 main camera sensor found on the higher-end X300 Pro. At 1/1.28 inches, this marks the largest main camera sensor ever included on a standard X-series device.

The imaging system also includes gimbal-level stabilization with a CIPA 5.5 rating, which should deliver noticeably steadier shots both in photos and video recording.

For the telephoto lens, Vivo is equipping the X500 with a 64MP Sony LYTIA-610 sensor, a component that will also be shared with the X500 Pro. This telephoto camera carries the same CIPA 5.5 stabilization rating and supports 4K 120fps slow-motion video capture. It is also compatible with Vivo’s compact telephoto extender accessory for additional reach.

Both the main and telephoto cameras carry Vivo Dual-Pro Zeiss imaging tuning. This makes the X500 a serious option for photography and video work even as the standard model in the lineup.

The Vivo X500 has previously appeared on China’s 3C certification database, where listings indicated it will support 90W fast charging. Vivo has confirmed the phone will launch this September, though an exact launch date has not yet been announced.
