Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 18 Pro series in China on September 23 at 7 PM local time. The lineup will include the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, with both phones confirmed to feature a new 2nm flagship mobile platform, dual 200MP Leica cameras, and much larger batteries.
Xiaomi says this new Pro series is the biggest upgrade to its numbered flagship lineup so far, with improvements across performance, cameras, display tech, battery life, and design.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Gets 2nm Platform and Dual 200MP Cameras
Xiaomi has confirmed that both the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will use a 2nm flagship mobile platform. The company has not yet officially revealed the chipset’s name.
However, our previous reports have linked the phones to Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series, with separate chip variants expected for the Pro and Pro Max. Those chipset details have not been confirmed by Xiaomi yet.
The camera system is another major change. Both phones will feature a Leica dual-camera setup built around two 200MP sensors, including a 200MP main camera and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera.
Additionally, the brand is also introducing a new-generation Super Pixel display with an M11 luminescent system. The company says the new display technology improves the screen while reducing power consumption. The front bezels have also been reduced to just 0.99mm.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Series Gets Huge Batteries
Battery capacity is one of the biggest upgrades in the new series.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro will have a 7,000mAh battery, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will step up to an 8,500mAh battery. Both use Xiaomi’s Jinshajiang battery technology with 32% silicon content.
The bigger batteries put both Pro models at almost the same capacity as most flagship phones right now. Just how long they last will still depend on the screen, chip, software, and how you use them.
New Rear Screen and Starry Blue Color
According to the brand, the 18 Pro series will retain the rear display introduced on the previous generation, but the company is giving it new functions.
The brand calls the new system a versatile rear screen. It can display functions such as timers, water-intake tracking, focus tools, and other application cards. It has also confirmed that users can create application cards with AI.
Moreover, the phones will use a flat unibody design with a large micro-arc quad-curved frame. The brand is also added a new Starry Blue color option.
Xiaomi 18 Series Launch Schedule
The Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will officially launch in China on September 23 at 7 PM.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 18 Fold has already launched in China following its unveiling on September 7. Unlike the Pro series, the foldable uses Xiaomi’s own XRING O3 platform.
As for the standard Xiaomi 18, it is expected to arrive separately from the Pro models, with reports suggesting to a later launch window but it has not yet confirmed its final release date.
For now, the September 23 event remains the next confirmed launch for the numbered flagship series.
During the event, Xiaomi is expected to reveal full details including complete specifications, pricing, storage options, and availability.
